Worthing Day Out

Posted on 26th June, 2024

Always on a week off I plan a day trip out, this weeks was a trip to Worthing, with both Wayne and Nikki.

Worthing is a little seaside town that both myself and Wayne often drive past and think nothing of it as it hasn’t got the glam that Brighton or Eastbourne holds and yet it is such a hidden gem.

We headed out around 10am to miss the school traffic and took the M23 and A24 to Worthing. The journey took around 1 hour and 15 minutes and the weather was absolutely perfect, if not a little too hot at times as temperatures were set to hit between 25 to 27 Celsius.

With temperatures set to soar we found a parking space in the shade and then we headed off to the town centre and luckily today was market day. Between heading into retail outlets for the air conditioning and trying to stay in the shade whilst at the market we all got some good bargains.

Retail therapy can be hungry work and though the offer of lots of street food today I wanted to be sitting down comfy, in the air conditioning and away form the hustle and bustle as we ate lunch.

I have been using an app called ‘Foursquare’ that is linked to a great review and rate app ‘Swarm’ and set the food type as lunch and a stones throw away was Wimpy, not had one in years and we all agreed it be a blast form the past and a perfect place to have a bite to eat.

After lunch we did some more shopping in town and then headed to the pier and grabbed a ninety-nine with a flake. We all had a go on the 2p machines, went for a drink in the bar and took more photos. After a stroll around M&S, we went back to the car and came home. A brilliant and excellent day out.
