After a treat in Harry Ramsden, we both walked it off by heading up to St. James Street and doing some shopping in Prowler.
It started to rain, and we made one last stop at ‘The Duck Store’ before we thought about heading home, we made our way to the marina, as usual, to grab some snacks and go for a bathroom break, little did we know how the journey home would turn out.
There was no report of snow, just the possibility of rain, which we were aware of and something that didn't put us off.

Today’s weather was far more severe than forecast, and the situation deteriorated incredibly quickly. Even by the time it began snowing in parts of the city, official forecasts were still saying no snow was expected in Brighton and Hove.
Little did they know how it was going to pan out.
It got hard to see as Wayne drove out up past the racecourse, we knew it was getting bad as farmers took to the roads to clear the snow using machinery as well as rescuing cars that were stuck.
Probably the most frightening experience was sitting in the car as it slid out of control, careering to the other side of the road with oncoming traffic. We both had no idea whether we would get home in one piece or have to abandon the car for the night. As we finally sat safely bumper to bumper with other cars, reports were coming in from people passing by who had decided to abandon their cars and that the delays were because, further down the road, there had been several car pile-ups at different parts of the road we were stuck on, and also, someone had a cardiac arrest, police and ambulances hurtled past several times and the uncertainty of ever getting home loomed.
After a gruelling 5 1/2 hours, we finally managed to get to safety and were heading home.
