Deck The Halls

Posted on 18th November, 2023

It's not a big deal, but today I did absolutely nothing, in fact I spent most of the day in and out of sleep cycles. It has been both demotivating and stressful this week at work but thankfully that’s behind me.

Today taught me that when your body says you gotta rest then you need to bloody listen because you don’t get a second chance. I could of attempted to push through the tiredness but I know the outcome would of meant that the rest of my long weekend off would have been compromised and I’ve got a list as long as your arm of things to do. It starts with getting up in the loft and sorting out Christmas decorations that need to come down this year. Thinking about it, it may seem a little early for decoration but Christmas in retail stores came a lot earlier this year and so means at work I see but thankfully don’t hear Christmas for a few weeks longer.

At home we normally go down the traditional twelve days before and twelve days after routine but this year I’m going to break with tradition and give into a little extra bit of Christmas excitement. Wayne surprised me today by purchasing a small pre-lit mini rainbow Christmas tree for my room. So it’s official, it’s Christmas in the Alton residence.
