Ohme

Posted on 3rd February, 2024

Today saw the upgrade to our home EV charger.  If I had a choice I would not have used Ohme simply because of its lack of security features as a simple stand alone unit, instead we had to opt for the pro unit and a tethered connection so as to have the security and insurance of a charger that lived up to professional standard.  This simply means that the charging cable is premaritally attached to the charging unit so that no one can thieve the highly expensive cable.  Most new EV owners are unaware of the lack of home chargers that lock once your car is charging, something that should be industry standard as a swift pull of an EV cable that is in mid charge can result in damage to your cars battery and a very hefty cost if any damage is done that is not covered by insurance companies.
