Again

Posted on 8th January, 2025

I have been here before and it has taken a long time to teach myself how to acknowledge my mental health, I think that coming out of the Covid pandemic brought to light that mental health was such a misunderstood illness and because it affected so many people at the time it became less of a taboo, it was treatable outside of the so-called misconception of the ‘Funny Farm’.

As a way of recovery this time round I started to diary how I was feeling and experiencing so I could learn how to cope better.

It is never going to go away, but over time, it is going to be better managed, and more so now because of the array of resources that we have to be able to better understand what triggers mental health.

Having the added benefit of GPs, support groups, Cognitive behavioural therapy, and a broader scope of medications can only be a good thing, as we will take more steps forward than steps backwards.
